Day 068/100When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us. Alexander Graham Bell
This is the first time I have ever read the full version of this quote and now having read it, it makes a lot more sense. Due to some of the crazy events I have experienced that when the first door closed, it was not a second door that opened but rather a window on the second floor. Prompting that the solution to what ever conundrum you were facing was never going to be easy or straight forward, you had to make a conscious choice to face your fear or problem head on and break through. I think that by having to work for the solution, when you do get to the other side you have come away more sure of yourself and that most fears when tackled are less scary than they first appear. I think what Graham Bell is trying to say in his own way is not to dwell on what we have lost, or that now appears out of reach, that by paying attention we can see the alternative and unobstructed doorway. What you may not consider is that by stepping through the door you will, perhaps in a more roundabout way, actually attain that which was once deemed lost.
